Products in the Probiotic Pearls range are convenient. You can take them with or without food and their small size makes them very easy to swallow.

In terms of storage they also have the advantage that they can be stored at room temperature without refrigeration. This makes them ideal for taking with you on short trips away or vacation.

All products also contain a mixture of probiotic strains. Taking a mixed strain product increases the chance of at least one of the strains being effective for you.

Products in the range all contain well-researched strains of probiotic bacteria for which there is scientific evidence of health benefit.

Anecdotally these products also receive very good reviews from users who report improvements in a range of conditions including bloating, gas, constipation, yeast infections, lactose intolerance etc as a result of taking these products. See here for specific details of these reviews.

Compared to most probiotic supplements on the market, Probiotic Pearls products contain low numbers of probiotic bacteria. The majority of the range contains only 1 billion CFUs of probiotic organisms per serving. Most quality probiotic supplements contain in excess of 10 billion CFUs. Probiotic Pearls Elite contain 5 billion CFUs of probiotic bacteria per serving

Pearls Elite is the highest potency of the Pearls products with 5 billion CFUs of beneficial bacteria per serving. This product is marketed as "high potency". However, we believe this label to be misleading given that the majority of the high potency probiotics available in the USA contain in excess of 100 billion CFUs per serving. See our page on high potency probiotic supplements for details.

The low level of probiotic bacteria per serving makes Probiotic Pearls expensive when compared to other probiotic supplements on the market. Have a look at our cost comparison guide for more specific guidelines as to how to compare accurately the cost of different probiotic supplements.

Our Evaluation

We have given Probiotic Pearls a 3-star rating

We have given these products a 3-star rating. They are clearly very handy both as far as the size of the "pearls" are concerned as well as their storage at room temperature. However the products’ big drawbacks are the low bacterial count, which is significantly less than the majority of probiotic supplements on the market and their comparatively high cost.
